User Info: magiceddie05 magiceddie05 Topic Creator 8 years ago 3 i know i posted spoilers in the title too. User Info: magiceddie05 magiceddie05 Topic Creator 8 years ago 5 okay cool man thanks. User Info: jakeDiLLa jakeDiLLa 8 years ago 8 I just did this mission and it pissed me off because I'm not strong enough to even beat the first wave of enemies so I had to go all the way back to before I recruited the Assassin because recruiting people from dossier seems to trigger it and now I will have to do that mission again some time.
Legendary edition reveals ME2 is the worst of the triology. Up ahead is a Control Terminal nearby that you can initiate for a cutscene. When you examine it, you'll bear witness to a cutscene that will begin to explain some of what's going on around here. To make a long story short -ish , Collectors are using humans to test and compare their DNA.
After some data is sent back to EDI, she makes a rather stunning realization -- the Collectors are genetically modified Protheans! At this, you can say "The Collectors are Protheans! At this point, Shepard will find a collection of weapons nearby and reach down for one, and you'll be taken to the Advanced Weapon Training menu. This is a VERY important menu! Here, you can choose to have Shepard train in using either an Assault Rifle, a Shotgun or a Sniper Rifle, which can be very useful in giving you more options in combat.
Soldiers, Vanguards and Infiltrators are in a unique position, however. Since they are already trained to use one or more of these three weapon types, those options are replaced with a VERY powerful weapon, all of which among the most powerful in the game, albeit with an Achilles Heel. Once you've made your choice, continue through the level. There's also a Weapon Locker here, great if you've just trained in a new class of weapon and want to choose which new weapon you want to have on you.
As you press onwards, your Squad will point out a tunnel in the ceiling with many more Pods in them. Head up the ramp on the right, and keep heading right: you should walk directly to more Collector Technology that you can Salvage for a whopping 15, Credits. Continue onwards and you'll walk right to a metal wall, with a long ramp on your left where Joker will call in. Now head up the long ramp on your left, working your way higher and higher through the ship.
And yet, still no sign of the Collectors, or anyone else still among the living. As the ramp moves upward, you'll come to a wide-open chamber, full of more pods than could possibly be filled by all human colonies strewn around the galaxy.
Continue forwards and at the end of the path, you'll find a green Command Console you can use to Contact the Normandy with. As becomes apparent, EDI's data mine opens the Normandy up to a security breach from Harbinger himself, where he tries to overload the Normandy before bringing the Collector Ship begins to bring itself online. When you finally regain full control following this topsy-turvy cutscene, you'll be in for a fight with the Collectors as you make your way out.
The battle with the Collectors here is going to be one of the most difficult fights you've faced so far in the game, hands down. Platforms similar to the one you're one will begin to come towards your location from all sides. Each of these platforms contains plenty of Collector enemies, including the powerful Harbingers that are extremely difficult to bring down even in the best of circumstances On top of that will be a Scion, whose biotic Shockwave move can break through cover and kill you incredibly quickly, even on the Casual difficulty.
Get ready to use liberal amounts of Medi-Gel here, because chances are, you're going to need it. After taking down the Scion, Harbinger should be prioritized when you're picking off targets, since he's capable of creating so much havoc with or without help from the Collectors plus he talks a lot of crap, too.
Don't let them get close to you, or it's game over. Instead, keep them at bay using your most powerful weapons to ensure that these guys don't get the upper hand. A sniper rifle, if you have one, will go a long way here in eliminating rocket-launching foes several platforms back.
They think they're safe, but friend, they aren't. Following the death of the last Collector in the assault team, ignore EDI for the moment and head up to the highest platform, where you can find some Power Cells.
This is also your last opportunity to retrain your powers in the Tech Lab, customize your armor , and retrain your squadmates' powers at the Shadow Broker Base if you have access to it.
On activating the relay, the Illusive Man briefs Shepard who is in full armor and tells you that he doesn't know what to expect on the other side. You are then treated to a long cutscene where your decisions on ship upgrades play out. The enormous wreckage field you emerge in testifies to the number of ships which have tried, unsuccessfully, to travel through the Omega 4 relay. Joker manages to maneuver the Normandy around the debris but EDI will warn that there are enemy vessels approaching.
Joker takes evasive maneuvers as they open fire on the Normandy's upper hull. If you failed to upgrade the Normandy's armor, then a laser will penetrate the Normandy's hull and kill Jack. A pursuing Oculus punches through into the Normandy's cargo hold. Shepard takes two squadmates down to deal with it.
Tip: Take squadmates who can help you deal with a heavily armored target. The battle with the Oculus occurs in two phases with a cutscene in between. In both phases, it will slowly advance and attempt to take a clear shot with its particle beam. Shooting from cover, keeping your squadmates in cover, and frequently changing position tend to be the best tactics, as the Oculus will constantly pursue you and will also try to flank you. Numerous fragile crates are in the area, and can be destroyed by the Oculus beam, so be mindful where you plan to dash into cover next.
Also, be careful of the large number of explosive canisters around as they will not affect the Oculus but they can be deadly to you and your squadmates. From your starting position, there is a med-kit available to your immediate right. Two med-stations are at the far end. Two boxes of Power Cells can be found about the shuttle bay: one near the right med-station, and another at your near left by the shielded floor beside gaping wall damage.
As usual these will resupply ammo for all of your regular weapons as well as your heavy weapon, and they alternately respawn from time to time. Tip: There will be multiple refills for both heavy weapon ammo and medi-gel in the upcoming Collector Base mission segments so there is no need to worry about conserving either during this fight.
During this first phase, the Oculus will ignore your squadmates and focus exclusively on Shepard, but you can safely remain behind the control console that you encounter as soon as you enter the shuttle bay: the Oculus will not move behind the console to flank you. Remain in cover while it is firing, then pop up and take it out. About halfway through the battle a cutscene plays where Joker has to lose the remaining Oculus chasing the Normandy by sending the Normandy through a field of debris.
If you didn't upgrade the Normandy's kinetic barriers, you will lose a squadmate here when the Normandy's drive core overloads. Eventually Joker emerges from the debris field with the remaining Oculus destroyed, save for one which re-enters the cargo hold. Joker comments that "It's up to Shepard. The Oculus returns and continues the battle, with full armor, regardless of how much damage you inflicted before the cutscene.
In the second phase of the battle, you start at the opposite end of the shuttle bay from before, so you will need to find different cover.
Also, even if you manage to return to your spot behind the control panel the Oculus will now fly right across it to flank you. There are several tall solid objects running lengthwise down the main area which you can use for cover, and you can dodge around them when the Oculus attempts to flank you, always interposing them between yourself and the Oculus.
The Oculus will chase Shepard to begin with, but after being damaged and dodging out the holes in the side of the Normandy a time or two it will tend to start chasing your squadmates instead, making your job a lot easier. Chakwas will reprimand you. Chakwas and the others if they survived will later die during the Suicide mission if you do not give them an armed escort back to the ship. The squadmate who accompanies the crew must be loyal to Shepard or they will die, though the crew will survive.
We recommend using Mordin as he's not much help elsewhere due to his poor defense. Set to step into the shoes of Mario and Garfield, what will Chris Pratt ruin next? Meg appreciates gaming on all formats but primarily spends her time achievement hunting.
